For sale is my 2006 Mazda MX-5 2.0 Sport, finished in Winning Blue, with 86,463 miles.

It's the desirable 2.0 Sport version and, as the photos show, the car still presents very well externally for its age. The Winning Blue paintwork really suits the car, the black fabric roof looks smart and it sits nicely on the dark alloys.

Unfortunately it has recently failed its MOT and I've decided to sell it as a project rather than carry out the repairs myself.

The MOT was carried out on 28 August 2026 at 86,463 miles.

The major items recorded were both front coil springs, nearside-front brake binding, ABS warning light/fault, corrosion to the inner sill/seat-belt anchorage prescribed areas on both sides, and corrosion affecting the rear inner suspension mounting prescribed areas on both sides.

There is also a minor registration plate light fault and advisories for the front and rear brake discs.

I want to be completely transparent about the condition rather than advertise it vaguely as “needs a bit of welding”. The complete MOT history is available online and prospective buyers are welcome to inspect it.

The car starts and runs and would suit somebody familiar with MX-5s, a competent welder/mechanic, an MX-5 specialist or somebody looking for a worthwhile project. Given the 2.0 Sport specification, colour, relatively sensible mileage and overall cosmetic condition, I would much rather see it repaired than broken for parts.

I'm open to sensible offers, particularly from somebody who can collect promptly, but I'm not looking to give it away.

As the vehicle does not currently have a valid MOT, the buyer should arrange suitable/legal collection or transportation.
