A beautiful, stylish estate that still turns heads. It's a joy to drive and very practical too.

• Timing chain, not a cambelt, so there's no cambelt replacement to budget for, ever

The boot

• Flat, spacious boot: 522 litres with the seats up and 1,664 litres with the rear seats folded
• Mazda's Karakuri system: pull a lever in the boot and that side of the 60/40 rear seat folds itself down, leaving a level floor with no lip
• Load cover that lifts automatically with the tailgate

Driving

• A joy to drive, with sharp steering and handling for an estate
• Slick six-speed manual gearbox
• Cruise control for relaxed motorway and city driving

Things to know

The car is priced low because insurance wrote it off (Cat N) for cosmetic damage to the rear bumper. The parking sensors don't currently work, and there are a few advisories.
