Description
I am Heidi Harrison, and my husband Richard and I are the tutors at Intuition Maths. We can help your child quickly pick up the maths skills and confidence they need to shine with our tuition.
Richard is a qualified, experienced teacher with years of success helping students not only meet but exceed their goals. In addition, through his experience as a learning support teacher, he understands the need for patience, to support and encourage students, especially when maths feels tricky.
Richard is also proud to be a ‘Super Tutor’ for the government’s National Tutoring Programme, set up to help students bounce back if attending school has been a challenge.
I brings over ten years of experience working with primary pupils, guiding their learning journeys and helping them grow in confidence every step of the way. I have assisted students in schools, colleges and universities across England, Scotland and Wales to reach their goals. With my teaching qualifications, I can quickly work out how to support both primary and secondary pupils to build their maths skills and, most importantly, believe in themselves.
We understand that everyone learns in their own way, so we tailor our lessons to fit your child. You can choose the session style that works best for them.
We know you want the best support for your child to help them progress in maths and reduce stress for both of you.
Some parents initially prefer in-person tuition, especially if online learning has not worked well for them before. We used to tutor in our Tuition Centres, but during Covid we moved online and found that most families preferred the convenience and flexibility it brings.
With one-to-one or one-to-two sessions, students often receive even more focus and support.
Learning from home also saves travel time and can feel less intimidating than a classroom setting. For some students, one-to-two sessions feel more relaxed and enjoyable with a little camaraderie thrown in.
We also offer two 30-minute sessions each week instead of one full hour. This can feel less overwhelming, helps students practise between sessions and allows them to stay on top of schoolwork while revisiting topics if needed.
We have found this two-session approach works well for both exam students and younger learners who may find a full hour of maths a bit too much of a good thing.
We know that some tuition enquiries lead to pressure from agencies, lengthy sign-up terms, and upfront fees, which can feel overwhelming for parents and students.
If you enquire with Intuition Maths, I will suggest a time for a quick chat. If it is not convenient, you can simply reply ‘No thanks’ or suggest a better time. I will not attempt to keep contacting you as I respect your decision. You are always welcome to get back in touch later if you find you need us.
Our weekly fee is £39 for either one hour or two 30-minute sessions.
Payment is made weekly in arrears through GoCardless during term time, unless another arrangement is preferred. There are no extra fees.
We tutor on Zoom and use resources such as past papers and a two-way notebook to make sessions clear, interactive, and engaging. We provide each of our students with their own copy of a suitable textbook to support their schoolwork or exam board.
If you would like to hear what our students and parents think of our tuition, please take a look at our reviews. We value our long-term relationships with the families we support and hope it shows.
If our tuition sounds right for your child, please feel free to get in touch. Via our contact details you will come directly through to me so you don't need to speak to any agents.
I hope your search for the right tutor is easy and stress-free.
If we can help in any way, even just with advice, please feel free to get in touch.
Working together with you, we can make maths a positive experience your child can feel good about—now and in the future!
Happy Tuition Hunting!
Richard and Heidi
