Tate Recruitment are proud to be partnered with the University of Southampton, a globally recognised, research‑led institution known for innovation, collaboration, and excellence in student experience.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Marketing Coordinator to join the University's Student Recruitment Marketing team on a temporary basis, supporting the delivery of creating multi‑channel marketing activity during a key period. This role pays £18 per hour.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Marketing Coordinator who thrives in a busy environment and wants to contribute to meaningful, high‑profile campaigns within the higher education sector.
The Role
As Marketing Coordinator, you'll play a hands‑on role in delivering end‑to‑end marketing activity that supports student recruitment and engagement. Working closely with Marketing Managers and Officers, you'll take ownership of allocated activities while collaborating across teams and with external partners.
You'll support campaigns across the following:
Digital marketing (web and social media)
Online and printed advertising
Publications and campaign collateral
Third‑party aggregators
Press, PR, and event marketing supportYou'll also contribute to research and reporting, analysing marketing data to identify insights, trends, and priorities, and supporting the ongoing optimisation of processes and plans.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver marketing and communication activities in line with agreed marketing plans
Coordinate and implement activity across digital, print, and paid channels
Liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers (designers, printers, agencies)
Conduct research and analyse quantitative and qualitative data, producing clear reports
Maintain accurate marketing plans, records, and process documentation
Support budget monitoring and routine financial administration
Contribute to wider student recruitment initiatives, events, and open daysAbout You
We're keen to hear from candidates who bring energy, organisation, and strong marketing fundamentals.
You'll ideally have:
Proven experience in a Marketing Coordinator or similar role
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Confidence working across teams and with external suppliers
Experience using digital marketing channels and campaign delivery
The ability to analyse and interpret data, presenting insights clearly
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A proactive, adaptable, and a conscientious approachExperience within higher education, public sector, or a complex organisation is advantageous but not essential.
