Description

Events Manager

About Us:

The Country Land and Business Association (CLA) is a dynamic, forward thinking membership organisation for owners of land, property and rural businesses, who has been championing the interests of rural England and Wales for over 100 years. CLA members own or manage around half the rural land in England and Wales and more than 250 different types of businesses.

About the role:

We are now looking for an experienced Events Manager to join our expert team in our Midlands office.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll take the lead in planning, coordinating and delivering a diverse programme of events for CLA members, stakeholders and sponsors. From technical seminars and networking events to major regional shows and conferences, you'll play a key role in creating engaging experiences that support our members and strengthen the CLA's presence across the Midlands.

What you’ll be doing

* Planning and delivering a varied programme of regional member events, seminars, shows and conferences.

* Coordinating venues, suppliers, bookings, attendee records and on-site event arrangements.

* Managing event administration, budgets, income and expenditure forecasts.

* Working closely with colleagues across the Midlands and nationally to deliver successful events.

* Supporting sponsorship activity by helping to identify and develop commercial partnerships.

* Maintaining accurate event records and CRM data.

* Acting as a key point of contact for members, sponsors and external stakeholders.

* Providing wider support to the regional office and assisting with national events where required.

What you’ll bring to the role

* Experience planning, coordinating and delivering events.

* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

* Experience managing event administration, suppliers and attendee communications.

* Confidence working with a range of stakeholders, including members, sponsors and external partners.

* Good attention to detail and a practical, solutions-focused approach.

* The ability to monitor budgets and manage event expenditure.

* Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.

You should be willing and able to learn, keep up to date with current issues affecting CLA members, and develop an understanding of the CLA’s purpose, ambitions, membership products and services.

Experience working within a membership organisation, professional services, not-for-profit environment or alongside sponsors and commercial partners would be advantageous but is not essential.

Working arrangements

This is a full-time, permanent role based at our Midlands office, (ST20 0JW) with requirement to work in the office at least 3 days per week.

Due to the nature of events at the CLA, from time to time there is requirement to attend meetings elsewhere in the country, primarily in the Midlands, outside of office hours and occasionally including an overnight stay. All travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses will be reimbursed and Time Off In Lieu will be granted for abnormal hours.

You will be working in a small, friendly team, who are very passionate about the organisation and rural affairs in general as well as being part of the CLA’s supportive team of over one hundred highly motivated individuals across England and Wales.

What are the benefits of working for the CLA?

* Generous annual leave

* Birthday Leave - a day off for your birthday

* Employer's pension contribution of up to 10% of salary

* Enhanced parental leave

* Wellbeing recourses

* Retail discounts

* + more!
