Workshop Assistant (Weekend)

Location: Gillingham

Hours: Friday – Sunday, 6:00am – 6:30pm

Pay Rate: 13.48 per hour

Contract: Weekend role (36 hours per week)

The Role

We are looking for a reliable and hands–on Workshop Assistant to support weekend manufacturing operations at our Gillingham site. This role involves assisting with fabrication, assembly, and general workshop activities while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out project–specific manufacturing activities during weekend shiftsFit and assemble parts using hand tools

Undertake basic fabrication tasks including measuring, drilling, and cuttingFollow work instructions and drawings, reporting any discrepancies

Conduct quality checks before and after manufacturing processesAssist with site opening and closing dutiesAdhere to all Health, Safety and internal manufacturing procedures

Ensure all tools, equipment, and tasks are carried out safely and correctlyIdentify opportunities to improve processes and performanceMaintain high–quality standards at all times

Skills & Attributes Required

Previous experience in a manufacturing or workshop environmentAbility to understand engineering/manufacturing drawings

Health & Safety conscious with strong attention to detailGood communication skills and the ability to work well within a teamProactive approach with the confidence to work independently when requiredHonest, reliable, and trustworthy
