Description
Starting your career in engineering? We're looking for a motivated hands on worker to learn tool-setting for CNC milling machines. This is a hands-on role with on-the-job training and support from experienced team members to help you build practical skills and progress within the workshop.
Key responsibilities
Learn to work from tooling setting sheets and job instructions
Assist with setting milling cutters, drills and other tooling into holders (training provided)
Deliver and collect tools to/from machines and support tool breakdown on job completion
Keep the tool-setting area clean, organised and safe
Help maintain tool holders, vices and other workshop equipment
Support tooling stock control and help order consumables as required
Develop the ability to prioritise tasks and meet production deadlines
Skills & experience (ideal for career starters)
Genuine interest in engineering, machining, or hands-on workshop work
Any workshop/assembly experience is helpful but not necessarily essential - we will train the right person
Good attention to detail and reliable timekeeping
Willingness to learn, follow processes and work methodically
Excellent team communication skillsEducation
GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent (or working towards)
