Shift Manager

Description

Imperial Recruitment are delighted to be working on behalf of a leading packaging manufacturer who are looking to appoint an experienced Shift Manager to join their team in Sedgefield.

The Role:

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will oversee a multi-disciplined manufacturing operation, managing all site activity during your shift. You’ll lead a team of around 25 staff, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and health & safety requirements are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, motivate and manage production teams across decoration, thermoforming, extrusion, and warehouse areas.

*

Maintain high standards of health & safety, product quality, and operational performance.

*

Drive efficiency and reduce wastage through proactive planning and problem solving.

*

Manage shift handovers, reporting, and communication between teams.

*

Support staff training, performance management and attendance processes.

About You:

*

Proven experience managing teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (minimum 3 years).

*

Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

*

ILM Level 3/5 qualification or equivalent desirable.

*

Background in plastics or packaging is advantageous but not essential.

*

Flexible to work a 12-hour rotating shift pattern (3 on, 3 off – days and nights) averaging 42 hours per week.
