Our client is a recognised leader in sustainable waste reduction, specialising in the recovery and recycling of mattresses that would otherwise end up in landfill. Their operation plays an important role in reducing environmental impact, and they are looking for reliable, hardworking individuals to join their team in Blackburn.

This role suits people who are practical, physically capable, and motivated to work in a structured, target-driven environment.

The Role

As a Recycling Operative, you will be part of a team responsible for dismantling and processing mattresses so materials can be recovered and reused.

Your responsibilities will include:

Dismantling mattresses and separating recyclable materials

*

Carrying out manual handling duties in a physically demanding environment

*

Working towards daily productivity and quality targets

*

Using an iPad to complete basic checklists and inspections when required

*

Maintaining a safe, organised working area within the recycling facility

This is a hands-on role in an industrial environment, and the work can be dusty and physically demanding, so candidates must be comfortable with manual work throughout the shift.

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to speak with individuals who are reliable, switched on, and take responsibility for their work.

You will ideally be:

Physically fit and comfortable with repetitive lifting and manual work

Dependable, punctual, and able to work consistently as part of a team

*

Motivated to meet productivity targets while maintaining quality standards

*

Comfortable using basic digital tools such as an iPad for simple reporting tasks

Previous experience in recycling, waste management, manufacturing, or production environments would be advantageous, but full training will be provided.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 3:00pm
