Quality Inspector Urgently required to inspect a wide range of mechanical products and assemblies for a specialist manufacturing business based near Woking.

In this role you will be carrying out a range of inspection activities throughout the product lifecycle, including incoming goods inspection, in–process inspection & first–off and first article inspection.

This is a critical role to ensure all components and assemblies conform to engineering drawings, customer requirements and quality standards.

You will be working with a wide area of the business units including Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement and Supply Chain teams to maintain product quality, support continuous improvement initiatives and assist in the investigation of quality concerns.

The position would suit an individual with a strong inspection background, experience of precision engineering and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Key responsibilities:

Incoming inspection of machined, fabricated, moulded, finished and purchased componentsIn–process and final inspection of sub–assemblies and finished productsPerforming dimensional, visual and functional inspections using conventional and advanced metrology equipmentProgramming and operating CMM equipmentConducting First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with customer and company requirementsProducing inspection records, FAIR documentation, control plans and quality reportsConducting machine shop first–off inspections and batch inspectionsSupporting supplier quality activities, including first shipment verification and supplier issue investigationsRaising and documenting non–conformances and supporting root cause investigations and corrective actionsEnsuring inspection activities are completed accurately and within required timescalesMaintaining accurate records within the ERP systemEnsuring all measuring equipment is handled and used correctlyExperience using conventional inspection equipment including

Minimum 3 years' experience in a mechanical inspection role within a manufacturing environmentAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications;Good understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)Experience operating and programming CMM equipment;Experience producing FAIRs and inspection reports;Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach;
