The successful quality inspector will carry out First-Off, In-Process and Last-Off inspections, working closely with production, engineering and quality teams to identify and resolve quality issues.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out First-Off inspections to verify components are correct before full production runs commence.

Perform In-Process inspections throughout manufacturing to ensure components remain within specified tolerances.

Complete Last-Off inspections at the end of production runs to confirm continued conformity.

Inspect manufactured components against engineering drawings, specifications and quality requirements.

Accurately measure dimensional and geometric features using a variety of inspection equipment and hand-held measuring tools.

Use equipment such as verniers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, plug gauges, surface tables and other precision measuring instruments.

Record inspection results accurately and maintain the required quality documentation and traceability.

Identify and report non-conforming components, dimensional issues and manufacturing defects.

Work closely with machine operators and production personnel to address quality concerns and prevent further non-conforming parts being produced.

Support investigations into quality issues and contribute to corrective actions where required.

Ensure measuring and inspection equipment is used correctly and remains within calibration requirements.

Maintain high standards of accuracy, attention to detail and housekeeping within the inspection area.

Follow company quality procedures, health and safety requirements and relevant industry standards.

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience carrying out First-Off, In-Process and Last-Off inspection.

The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.

A good understanding of dimensions, tolerances and geometric requirements.

Experience using a range of precision measuring equipment, including verniers and micrometers.

Previous experience inspecting machined or manufactured components.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to make accurate inspection decisions.
