Quality Assurer

Newcastle-under-Lyme

Up to £30,000 per annum

26 days holiday plus bank holidays

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Assurer to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Working closely with Production and Coatings teams, you will help drive continuous improvement, reduce waste and rework, and ensure products consistently meet both business and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out quality inspections throughout production processes, including pre-process, in-process and final inspections.

Inspect finished products for defects, damage, incorrect finishes, and other quality concerns.

Check finish quality, thickness, adhesion, colour, gloss and overall product standards using appropriate inspection equipment.

Ensure products meet drawings, specifications, work instructions, and customer requirements.

Identify and control non-conforming products, raising quality concerns and supporting corrective actions.

Maintain accurate quality documentation, inspection records, and traceability information.

Work collaboratively with production teams to investigate defects and reduce scrap and rework.

Support root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ensure measuring equipment is calibrated and quality procedures are followed.

Maintain high standards of health and safety, housekeeping, and PPE compliance.

Undertake any additional duties required to support operational needs.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering, production, paint-line, or coating environment.

Strong understanding of quality inspection principles.

Ability to identify visual and dimensional defects.

Experience reading manufacturing specifications, work instructions, and engineering drawings.

Experience using measuring and inspection equipment.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to maintain clear and accurate quality records.

Strong communication skills with the confidence to work closely with production teams.

Ability to make objective quality decisions and escalate issues when required.

Desirable

Previous experience as a Quality Inspector, Quality Technician, Quality Controller, or similar.

Experience with painting, finishing, or coating processes.

Knowledge of coating inspection and thickness measurement.

Understanding of ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.

Experience managing non-conformances, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.

Experience investigating customer quality concerns.

Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies.
