We are partnering with a well-established manufacturing business in Cheltenham to recruit a Purchasing / Inventory Control Coordinator for a newly created position. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and detail-driven professional to play a pivotal role in supporting production operations across multiple sites.

Working closely with the Production Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all purchasing functions and ensuring efficient, accurate inventory control. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of processes and driving continuous improvement.

The Role

Collaborate with the Production Manager to assess material and stock requirements.

Manage the end-to-end purchasing process: raising POs, verifying costs, authorising payments, and updating systems.

Maintain and update the inventory management system on a daily basis.

Monitor supplier performance and manage issues such as quality concerns, delivery delays, or pricing discrepancies.

Conduct inventory checks, including cycle counts, spot checks, and month-end reconciliations.

Investigate and resolve inventory variances, ensuring data accuracy.

Compile and present purchasing and inventory reports, including audit summaries and key performance metrics.

Requirements

Previous experience in a purchasing and/or inventory control role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Confident with inventory systems and database management.

Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach.

Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Proactive mindset with the ability to solve problems and communicate solutions effectively.
