I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a reputable and growing company within the heavy vehicle and plant machinery sector. They are currently seeking an experienced HGV Plant Fitter to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled technician to work with a variety of heavy vehicles and plant equipment in a well–equipped and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs and plant machineryDiagnose faults and carry out mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairsConduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with operational standardsRespond to breakdowns and carry out on–site repairs when requiredMaintain accurate service records and job documentationWork collaboratively with workshop colleagues to meet deadlinesManage parts and consumables efficientlyFollow health and safety procedures and company policiesContribute to continuous improvement initiatives in the workshopRequirements

Previous experience as an HGV or plant fitter/technicianRelevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or Plant Engineering)Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systemsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamFull UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential)Good problem–solving skills and attention to detailBenefits
