We are recruiting a Planning & Materials Manager to support our Assembly Business Units. This is a key leadership role responsible for planning, scheduling and material control activities that enable business growth, strong customer service and operational performance.

Working closely with Assembly Managers and Supply Functions, you will ensure demand, capacity, materials and inventory are aligned through a robust planning process, enabling timely decision–making and efficient delivery.

Responsibilities

Lead planning and materials management activities across multiple manufacturing sites. Manage a team of planners and material controllers, providing coaching, support and performance leadership. Ensure materials are available to support production plans and customer commitments. Monitor demand, capacity and inventory, identifying risks and driving solutions. Develop planning processes, governance and performance measures to improve operational effectiveness. Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, logistics and warehousing teams to support business priorities. Drive continuous improvement across planning, stock management and material flow.

Key requirements

Experience in planning, materials management, supply chain or manufacturing operations within an engineering or high–technology environment. Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, capacity planning, inventory management and production scheduling. Experience leading teams and influencing stakeholders across a complex organisation. Strong analytical and problem–solving skills, with the ability to translate data into practical business decisions. Excellent communication and relationship–building skills. A continuous improvement mindset and a proactive, hands–on approach.

Person specification

We're seeking a positive and collaborative leader who can balance strategic thinking with operational delivery. You'll be confident influencing decisions, building strong relationships across multiple sites, and developing a high–performing team capable of supporting future business growth.

Travel within the UK, including occasional visits to our Ireland facility, will be required.

Benefits

When you join Renishaw, we're committing to your future career. That's because we believe in developing our people's skills and promoting them internally. We also offer a benefits package that's highly desirable; including a 9% non–contributory pension, discretionary annual bonus, subsidised onsite restaurants and coffee shops, free parking, car sharing scheme and 24 hour fitness centres. ( not available at all sites).

We also want to promote a healthy work–life balance as much as possible, so we have introduced a hybrid working policy which allows for a combination of home and office based working depending on the nature of your role. We also offer a variable working programme, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, Life Assurance policy of 12 times annual salary, Cycle to Work scheme, enhanced maternity pay subject to qualifying criteria, Health Cash Plan, the option to join Renishaw Health Trust (Aviva) and an Employee Assistance Programme for employees and family.
