Nights Manager– Nights (food manufacturing)

Location: Stoke–On–Trent

Salary: Up to GBP60,000 per annum

Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 9:30pm – 6:30am

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nights Manager to join a fast–paced food manufacturing business based in Stoke–On–Trent. Reporting directly to the Factory Manager, you will be responsible for leading the night shift operation, ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations

Lead the night shift operation to deliver the daily production planEnsure customer orders are completed accurately and on timeManage labour resources to maximise productivity and efficiencyMonitor production performance, yields and KPIs, identifying opportunities for improvementMinimise waste across raw materials, packaging and consumablesLead daily operational meetings and communicate production performance across departments Team Management

Lead, motivate and develop production teams and Senior Line LeadersConduct inductions, training, appraisals and ongoing performance reviewsManage attendance, absence, return–to–work interviews and holiday planningHandle employee relations matters, including disciplinary and performance management processesPromote a positive culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement Quality & Food Safety

Ensure full compliance with food safety, GMP and HACCP standards.Carry out internal audits and implement corrective actions where required.Maintain high standards of product quality and customer compliance.Ensure stock is stored, rotated and identified correctly. Health & Safety

Promote a strong health and safety culture throughout the siteEnsure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation, COSHH and company proceduresInvestigate incidents and near misses, implementing preventative actions where requiredEnsure all risk assessments and safe working practices are followed Continuous Improvement

Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including Kaizen and continuous improvement projectsIdentify root causes of operational issues and implement long–term solutionsAnalyse production data to improve efficiency, productivity and overall site performanceSupport business improvement projects and mentor colleagues across the operation Essential Skills & Experience

Previous management experience within FMCG or food manufacturingStrong leadership and people management skillsExperience managing KPIs, productivity and production performanceKnowledge of food safety, GMP and HACCPExcellent communication and organisational skillsStrong problem–solving and decision–making abilityGood IT skills with experience using production or ERP systemsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesFlexible and proactive approach Qualifications
