Job Title: Mechanical Fitter (Training and Upskilling Provided)

Job Location: Crewe, Cheshire

Shifts: Mon-Fri 8am 4.30pm (With Flexibility to work shifts)

Hourly Rate: £16.57 PAYE / £21.44 Umbrella (Training rate for first approx. 6 weeks)

£18.82 PAYE / £24.40 Umbrella (Post training)

Hours Per Week: 37

Duration: Ongoing

Start Date: November/December 2025

Shorterm Group are recruiting for over 75 Mechanical Fitters for

long term contracts for their major client Alstom to carry out the Mechanical.

Overhaul of Rail Bogies at their Crewe Depot.

Backgrounds will be considered and Paid Training will be provided.

Company Summary:

Position Summary:

Completing Mechanical Overhaul of Rail Bogies. Candidates will be required to carry out the following duties:

* Bogie overhaul, damage repair and engineering

* Wheel set overhaul, repair and analysis

* Bogie and gearbox engineering / repair

* Wheel exchange on wheel sets

* Components and sub-assemblies overhaul repair and analysis

* Heavy mechanical fitting to safety critical standards
