Material Handler
Location: Heysham
Pay Rate: 12.65 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, rotating weekly between three shift patterns:
06:00 – 14:0008:00 – 16:0009:30 – 17:30
Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We are on the lookout for a dedicated and detail–oriented Material Handler to join our dynamic operations team in Heysham. If you're passionate about working in a fast–paced environment and have a keen eye for detail, we want to hear from you!
What You'll Do:
As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in managing and moving fine chemicals and related materials within our site. Your responsibilities will include:
Goods In & Stock Control
Receive and unpack goods, ensuring accurate booking–in using the JD Edwards (JDE) system.Perform various JDE transactions relevant to your role.Locate bulk and pre–pack goods to designated hazard warehouses.Conduct cycle counts and resolve Not on Location (NOL) discrepancies.
Picking, Packing & despatch
Pick stock for repack orders and return bulk items to correct storage locations.Prepare UK and export shipments following provided pick lists, reporting any discrepancies.Follow packing and labelling instructions in line with Transport Regulations.Participate in collation of export shipments and ensure accurate documentation.
Chemical Handling & Compliance
Handle fine chemicals in accordance with Chemical Exposure Management (CEM) regulations.Ensure adherence to safety precautions and site security policies.Comply with environmental and quality policies as outlined by the EMS and QMS.Address any issues affecting compliance, safety, or product quality.
Systems & Equipment
utilise Third–Party Systems as required (e.g., courier platforms, MSDS lookups).Operate equipment only when fully trained and authorised.Report any defects or equipment issues promptly.Maintain accurate records and paperwork related to your role.
Continuous Improvement
Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.Support the team and business with additional duties as needed.
What We're Looking For:
Experience in warehousing, material handling, or stock control is preferred.Confident in using computer systems; experience with JD Edwards or similar stock software is desirable.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.Awareness of health & safety requirements, ideally within a chemical–handling environment.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
