Description

Machine / Production Operatives

Location: Clevedon

Contract: Initially 6 months (long-term opportunity / potential to go permanent)

Pay: £14.65ph + 17% shift allowance + holiday + pension.

Shifts: Rotating

Monday to Thursday: 05:50-14:00 & 13:50-22:00

Fridays: 05:50-11:20 & 11:10-16:40 – EARLY FRIDAY FINISH!

This exciting role is working for global engineering company with numerous sites in the UK. It’s a hands-on role within a busy engineering production environment, supporting the manufacture of precision components. You will be operating machinery, carrying out quality checks, and ensuring production runs safely, smoothly, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

* Operating engineering machinery including CNC machines, manual lathes, milling machines, and polishing equipment

* Reading and working from engineering drawings and process instructions

* Setting up machines and tooling where required

* Carrying out quality checks and basic measurements

* Working to production targets and deadlines

* Maintaining a clean, safe working environment in line with 5S standards

* Following all health & safety procedures at all times

About You

We are looking for practical, reliable individuals with a background in engineering or manufacturing.

Essential:

* Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment

* Ability to read engineering drawings

* Good mechanical understanding and hands-on ability

* Strong attention to detail and quality focus

* Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player

Desirable:

* CNC machine operation or setting experience

* Manual machining experience (lathe/milling)

* Polishing or finishing experience

* Engineering qualification (NVQ / City & Guilds / Apprenticeship)
