Job Title: Machine Operative (CNC) - Nights

Location: Thetford

Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday, 4:00pm - 4:00am (11.5 hours per shift)

Pay Rate: £16 per hour

Contract Type: Temporary

Start Date: ASAP

Job Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Machine Operative to join our client's busy machine shop on the night shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating CNC machines to produce small, precision components while maintaining strict quality standards. This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to quality control.

Key Responsibilities

Operate CNC machines to manufacture small precision components in line with engineering specifications.

Carry out first-off inspections and regular in-process quality checks.

Perform detailed measurements using micrometers, verniers, and other precision measuring equipment.

Ensure all components meet required tolerances and quality standards.

Monitor machine performance and report any issues or deviations.

Maintain accurate production and inspection records.

Follow company procedures, technical drawings, and health & safety regulations at all times. Skills & Experience Required

Previous experience working as a Machine Operative in a CNC or precision engineering environment.

Experience handling small components with tight tolerances.

Strong knowledge of quality control procedures and measurement techniques.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Good understanding of health & safety practices in a manufacturing environment. Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with CNC machines in a production setting, particularly with small, high-precision components.
