Description

Knitting Machine Operator

Location: Rochdale

Hours: 7:30am – 4:10pm Monday – Thursday / 7:30 – 12:30 Friday

Pay: £12.40 per hour

Contract: Temporary ongoing

We are currently seeking a Knitting Machine Operative to join our clients production team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail who enjoys working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate knitting machines to manufacture fabrics in line with production schedules and quality standards.

Monitor machine performance during operation, identifying defects in fabric and responding promptly to any issues.

Detect and repair fabric faults, including threading cotton ends into machines and tying in warp ends when required.

Carry out occasional tasks at height, such as accessing elevated machine components for adjustments or maintenance, using provided safety equipment and training.

Perform manual handling duties involving weights between 8kg and 14kg, including the movement of yarns, beams, and finished products.

Maintain cleanliness of machinery and the surrounding work area to support a safe and efficient working environment.

Complete basic production documentation, including records of output, downtime, and faults.

Participate in training and develop the ability to operate additional machinery within the department to support team flexibility.

Comply with all health and safety regulations, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements:

Sufficient physical fitness to undertake manual handling tasks and occasional work at height

Strong attention to detail with the ability to quickly identify and resolve machine or fabric faults.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced production environment.

Basic literacy and numeracy skills to accurately complete production records. xjnqpsq
