Contract: 6 Month Contract

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday Remote working available following initial two weeks on–site training

A well–established food manufacturing business is looking to appoint an Interim Raw Material Specifications Technologist to support its Product Development team on an initial six–month contract.

This is a specialist raw material specifications role, taking responsibility for preparing, reviewing and maintaining accurate specifications for ingredients and raw materials used across the business.

Working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, you will ensure raw material information is complete, accurate and compliant, while helping maintain robust technical data across internal systems.

The role can be carried out entirely remotely following training, provided you are able to attend site for the first couple of weeks to complete your induction, learn the systems and get to know the wider team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Prepare, review and maintain raw material specifications, ensuring information remains accurate and up to date

• Liaise directly with suppliers to obtain, review and clarify raw material specification information

• Review supplier technical documentation and ensure all required raw material information is complete

• Maintain accurate raw material information across internal systems and databases

• Respond to raw material and ingredient queries from internal stakeholders

• Ensure raw material specifications reflect current food legislation and relevant technical requirements

• Work across multiple data sources to verify information and maintain consistency across technical records

• Manage multiple raw material specifications and priorities simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are achieved

• Identify gaps or inconsistencies in supplier information and follow these through to resolution

• Support continuous improvement across raw material specification processes and technical data management

Your Background

• Previous hands–on experience preparing and maintaining raw material specifications within the food manufacturing industry is essential

• Strong understanding of raw material and ingredient technical information and supplier documentation

• Experience liaising directly with suppliers to obtain and verify specification information

• Good knowledge of food legislation and its application to raw materials and ingredients

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify missing, inconsistent or inaccurate technical information

• Comfortable managing a high volume of specifications and multiple priorities simultaneously

• Confident working with technical systems, databases and multiple sources of product information

• Self–motivated and able to take ownership of your workload with minimal supervision

• Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
