Health & Safety Advisor - GBP200 per day Umbrella

Initial 4/5 days per week / 3 months+

Location: Sevenoaks

A current Enhanced DBS with barred lists (or update service), is essential for this position

Our client, a school in Sevenoaks is seeking a proactive, hands-on Health & Safety Advisor for a short, focused temporary assignment. We are looking for someone who can quickly get onsite, assess current practices, and drive practical improvements that make a measurable difference to safety across the school.

This role is ideal for someone who prefers being active on the ground, solving problems directly, and delivering visible improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct thorough, hands-on safety inspections across all school buildings and outdoor areasIdentify issues and implement immediate, practical safety solutionsUpdate and refine risk assessments based on real site observationsLead accident investigations ensuring corrective and preventative actions are followed throughCheck and help improve fire alarms, equipment, signage, and evacuation routesProvide on-the-spot coaching to staff to strengthen safe working practicesMonitor contractors on site to ensure safe and compliant workingOrganise and streamline Health & Safety documentation, ensuring accuracy and complianceOffer timely advice where urgent safety decisions or actions are neededSupport the development of a positive and proactive safety culture across the school

Requirements

NEBOSH (or equivalent qualification)Strong, practical Health & Safety experience in hands-on environmentsConfidence in leading and delivering practical improvementsStrong communication, coaching and organisation skillsEnhanced DBS (with barred lists)
