Description

Protea Recruitment are currently recruiting a unique role of HSE & Facilities Manager, This leading UK producer, is seeking an experienced HSE & Facilities Manager to join its Operations department. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role is crucial for enhancing the company's health, safety, and environmental (HSE) performance and overseeing engineering facilities.

Key Responsibilities

As the HSE & Facilities Manager, you'll drive a robust safety culture and ensure full compliance with all HSE regulations. Your primary focus will be on minimizing workplace risks, improving operational practices, and developing world–class HSE standards.

Your core duties will include:

HSE Management: Implementing and monitoring HSE policies, conducting site audits and inspections, managing risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with environmental matters like Legionella, Asbestos, and water quality. You'll also be responsible for incident investigations, delivering training (including toolbox talks and inductions), and maintaining up–to–date training records. Facilities & Engineering Oversight: Strategically planning and managing the engineering team, ensuring efficient operations within budget, and leading team development and succession planning initiatives. You'll also be accountable for planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and engineering projects. Culture & Communication: Fostering a strong safety–focused culture, providing expert advice on HSE matters to employees, subcontractors, and suppliers, and establishing clear communication channels for HSE information across the business. Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have significant manufacturing experience and extensive knowledge of health and safety legislation. You should be a highly capable leader with a proven track record in project management and driving positive change.

We're looking for someone with:

NEBOSH qualification. Strong leadership skills, including influencing, motivating, and coaching teams. Excellent communication and credibility at all organisational levels. Proficiency in data analysis, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience in KPI and budget management. Strong analytical skills to make data–driven recommendations. Experience leading engineering teams is beneficial.
