Goods In Quality Control Operative

Location: Bexley, Kent

Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Goods In Quality Control Operative to join a growing manufacturing business committed to delivering high-quality products to customers across the UK and international markets.

Working closely with the Warehouse, Production and Procurement teams, you will play a key role in ensuring all inbound materials and finished goods meet the company's quality, specification and compliance standards before entering stock or production.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail who enjoys working in a quality-focused manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect incoming goods to ensure they meet quality standards, specifications and technical drawings.

Check materials for damage, defects, dimensional accuracy, packaging and overall compliance before acceptance into stock.

Verify deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation.

Maintain accurate quality inspection records, audit trails and reporting.

Raise, investigate and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), working with suppliers to resolve quality issues.

Carry out stock integrity checks, ensuring quarantined stock and quality holds are accurately managed.

Support product traceability and inventory accuracy.

Build strong relationships with suppliers and assist with supplier quality improvement activities.

Identify opportunities to improve quality processes, reduce defects and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Work collaboratively with Warehouse, Production and Procurement teams to maintain high quality standards.Skills & Experience

Essential

Previous experience within Goods In, Quality Control or a manufacturing quality environment.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Excellent attention to detail.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Experience using warehouse or manufacturing systems.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Accurate record-keeping abilities.

Desirable

Experience managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).

Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS).

Experience working with supplier quality improvement activities.

Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies.

Forklift licence.

Basic Salary between £30,000 - £38,000 per annum
