Salary Dependent on Experience (Plus Shift Allowance!)

Our client is a leader in the Design and Manufacturing of bespoke valves for a variety of industries and they are looking for a CNC Setter to join their team!

Roles and Responsibilities:

Responsible for crafting and maintaining precision parts and componentsAct as leader of the Cell and ensure all machines are set and run to achieve efficiency and utilisation targetsResponsible for setting up all machines in the CellRun the machines within the CellResponsible for traveler bookings (documents) in the CellCo-ordinate machine maintenance as requiredLiaise between the Production Team Leader and Production Engineering to overcome/resolve any drawing or process queriesWork with Production Engineering to improve production processesAssist with other duties at the discretion of the Production Team LeaderMaintain a safe and tidy work environmentPartake in training when requiredMinimise the level of scrap componentsTo mentor any new staff or apprentices which are working within the Machine ShopTo actively work with the Production Team Leader and Production Manager to establish key delivery dates/requirementsCommunicate workshop issues to the Production Team LeaderEstablish any training requirements for the Machine Shop workforce in conjunction with the Production Team LeaderTo manage the breaks within the CellResponsibility for signing off first off inspectionsProvide handover to the next CNC Setter at the start of each shiftIdeal Candidate:

One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceEngineering qualification preferably craft apprenticeship or equivalentBasic CNC programming and machine competenceGood written and verbal communication skills Ability to be able to read and understand engineering drawingsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAbility to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphsAbility to deal with problems involving several variables in standardised situationsCompetent with MS Office packagesJackie Kerr Recruitment is an independent agency that has been established for 28 years.
