McGeoch Technology Ltd. is a well–established and expanding manufacturing company based in Birmingham and due to our current growth, we are now looking to recruit for the position of a CNC Miller Setter. The successful applicant will be based at our production facility in Birmingham city centre.

The Role

As part of a larger strategy to increase our productivity across the business, we are looking to add a skilled and flexible machinist to our team, who s role will be to support the incumbent CNC team with all aspects of their daily tasks as required. Responsible for setting & operating 1, 2 or 3 Axis CNC milling machines at a time, predominately working with Stainless Steels and nonferrous metals.

Setting & operating of CNC machinery on the sectionAdhering to company manufacturing proceduresConforming to specified engineering and quality standardsUsing various types of measuring equipment to ensure parts conform to drawingWorking as a hands–on machinist on either Fanuc or Mazak VMC sProviding absence cover where requiredCarrying out TPM /PPM activitiesProving Out Key Skills (non–negotiable)

Strong understanding of CNC milling and manufacturing processesExperience as a setter–operator utilising 3 Axis CNC milling machinesStrong understanding of CNC milling and manufacturing processesExtensive experiencing in setting and running CNC machinesAbility to read drawings including GD&T symbolsA flexible and can do attitude Desired Skills

G–Code & Conversational Programming of CNC Machines, Mazatrol and/or Fanuc preferred but others consideredCapable of understanding & altering ISO ProgrammesPerformed in a setter–operator role using Mazak or DNM machineryMazatrol ExperienceTurning knowledgeExposure to CAD/CAMCompetency with MS Excel, WordCMM operatingCapable of understanding & altering ISO ProgrammesPerformed in a setter–operator role using Mazak or DNM machinery Hours
