Associate Procurement Professional

Location: Desford, Leicestershire (Hybrid - 3 days in the office)

Contract: 12 Months (Potential to Extend)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Flexible start and finish times)

Are you an analytical and proactive procurement professional looking for your next challenge? We have an exciting opportunity to join a global manufacturing organisation, supporting a fast-paced logistics and procurement team with a variety of strategic and operational purchasing activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with procurement, supply chain or logistics experience who enjoys problem solving, process improvement and working collaboratively across multiple functions. With several exciting projects underway, including increased automation and AI initiatives, this role offers genuine opportunities for learning, development and the potential to progress into a permanent position.

What you'll be doing

As an Associate Procurement Professional, you'll support key procurement initiatives while ensuring safety, compliance and operational excellence. Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting procurement activities across purchasing, logistics and supplier management

Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships through regular meetings and performance reviews

Supporting engineering changes and new part set-up

Driving continuous improvement, automation and lean initiatives

Assisting with supplier onboarding and compliance activities

Managing procurement systems and maintaining accurate data

Supporting invoice resolution and improving supplier performance metrics

Supporting Country of Origin and compliance declarations

Contributing to aftermarket growth and new business activities

Working collaboratively across internal teams to deliver customer-focused solutions

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, self-motivated and enjoys working with data to solve problems.

Essential Skills & Experience

Previous experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain or Logistics (minimum 2 years preferred)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Data analysis experience

Negotiation and sourcing experience

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Good project coordination skills

Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (VLOOKUPs, xjnqpsq formulas), Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint

A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset

Desirable

Experience with Power BI

Experience using ERP systems (Glovia advantageous)

Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
