Assembly Technician

Starting salary: 37,241 (increasing to 39,465 after training) + shift premium

Shifts: Days, lates, nights + occasional weekends

Safran Landing Systems are a global leader in aircraft landing and braking systems, from commercial and business travel to military and defence fleets.

Our expertise cover the entire life cycle of our products from end–to–end; OEM Design, Engineering & Manufacturing, through to Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO).

Your role:

As an Assembly Technician, you'll play a critical role in our MRO operations, assembling and testing single aisle family landing gears.

You'll work as part of a diverse team to complete the required quantity of shipsets per week to meet our customer's expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble and test Airbus Single Aisle family nose and forestay, and main gears and sidestays, and with quality being at a high level.Continuous improvement on improving the quality and efficiency of both the assembly and test of the units.Deliver a product in line with quality, cost, and delivery.

What you'll bring:

An Engineering Apprenticeship (preferably gained within the aerospace or manufacturing sector), or a Level 3 NVQKnowledge of working with and assembling complex mechanical productsExperience in reading component maintenance manuals, drawings, engineering layouts and additions to the original design such as Service Bulletins, and Service LettersAbility to use a wide range of precision measuring and test equipmentHave an understanding of basic electrical circuitry for fitment and test of harness/switches etcAn understanding of Lean Sigma disciplines and 5s principles
