Posting for 5+ yearsGibson Mandolin F4 1919 Sell/exchange
Cramlington, Northumberland
£4,500
Description
I am selling my much loved Gibson 1919 F4.
I bought this mandolin in 2020 from Gruhns' Nashville. I have very much enjoyed it but am more guitar focussed so it doesn't get played a great deal and someone else may want such a rare instrument in the Uk.
Has original case, bridge, nut, tailpiece.
The 'period correct' Gibson pickguard was added by myself as were the Stewmac tuners with Mike Blohm replica Handel inlaid buttons. They work great.
The mandolin plays and sounds great. It plays very easily. I've had about 10 F4s in the last 50 years and this one is most definitely the best. Light and loud. 30mm NUT. I have the pearl nut in the case but I prefer bone so it has bone nut. Strings 11-40 and no top sinkage. Neck is straight on bass side. On treble side it slightly falls down on the last 3 frets over the soundhole but never comes into play.
A most beautiful and rare mandolin from America;s golden mandolin time.
Back has beautiful patina so all in all the mandolin is ready to play and a joy to play actually. Very responsive.
I think someone will love this mandolin. Any questions welcome. £4500 before I change my mind and decide to keep it.
May consider Martin or Gibson acoustic guitar in some sort of exchange or possibly an F-hole mandolin of very good quality.
Welcome to come and try it. More pics for genuine enquiries.
Collection only --unless you arrange courier after bank transfer. NO Pay Pal.
If it is listed it is available. No scammers-They will be obvious and ignored.
