Location: Based at our site in Farnworth, Bolton

Salary: Competitive

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

Working Hours: 38 hours per week Mon to Thurs 07:30 to 16:00 and Friday 07:30 to 12:50

Backer Heatrod is a leading UK manufacturer of electric heating elements and industrial heating solutions. As part of the global NIBE Element Group, we design and produce both standard and bespoke heating products for a wide range of industries including process, food & beverage, and chemical sectors.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Stock Controller to join our Supply Chain team. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring inventory is accurately controlled, efficiently stored, and readily available to support manufacturing and operational requirements.

The successful candidate will manage stock across a diverse product range, much of it small–batch, ensuring accuracy, traceability and strong stock discipline while working closely with internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Support warehouse inventory in line with company procedures and processesReceive, store and categorise stock to support internal and external distributionEnsure efficient use of warehouse space and correct stock location allocationMaintain accurate inventory records and reconcile stock systemsCarry out daily and weekly rolling stock countsInvestigate stock discrepancies and implement corrective and preventative actionsLiaise with internal departments to support effective stock controlSupport the warehouse team as requiredManage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast–paced environmentAbout you:

Essential:

Proven experience in stock control within a manufacturing or warehouse environmentForklift licenceKnowledge/Experience using inventory management systemsKnowledge of goods–in and stock control proceduresStrong IT skills, including Microsoft 365Excellent attention to detail and problem–solving skillsFlexible, accountable and a strong team playerDesirable:

Experience in Warehousing, Logistics or Supply ChainDemonstrable use of ERP/MRP systemsBenefits:
