Are you an experienced Ocean Freight Operator looking to join a growing freight forwarding business where you'll be trusted, supported and given genuine opportunities to develop your career?

We're recruiting on behalf of a well–established, privately owned logistics provider with an excellent reputation for delivering first–class freight solutions. Due to continued growth, they're looking to strengthen their Manchester operations team with an experienced Ocean Freight Operator.

The Role

You'll be responsible for managing sea freight shipments from start to finish, ensuring every consignment is handled efficiently while providing exceptional customer service.

Your day–to–day responsibilities will include:

Managing import, export and cross–trade ocean freight shipmentsBooking cargo with shipping lines and overseas agentsCustoms clearance and shipping documentationLiaising with customers, carriers and international partnersPreparing quotations and following up on new opportunitiesCosting, invoicing and maintaining accurate shipment recordsBuilding long–term customer relationships and supporting account growth

About You

To be successful, you'll have:

Previous end–to–end Ocean Freight forwarding experienceStrong knowledge of import and export operationsCustoms clearance experience (CDS knowledge desirable)Excellent communication and customer service skillsStrong organisational skills with great attention to detailCargoWise experience would be advantageous
