Description

Stores & Logistics Operative (Day Shift)

Location: Edinburgh

Pay Rate: 12.30 – 14.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Shift Pattern: Monday–Thursday 08:20–17:05, Friday 08:20–13:25 (with 1 hour daily flexibility)

Pre–employment requirement: Drug screening and successful onboarding checks

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Stores & Logistics Operative to join our client's growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in warehouse operations, logistics, or materials handling, who takes pride in maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and compliance within a busy working environment.

You'll be responsible for ensuring smooth warehouse and logistics operations, including inventory control, goods handling, and supporting production with timely materials supply.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure warehouse compliance with all Health & Safety regulations

Pack, stock, and organise products neatly and efficiently

Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels

Manage incoming and outgoing goods, including shipping, loading, and unloading

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely

Handle and transport sensitive or delicate materials with care

Drive vans, trucks, and passenger vehicles to support logistics operations

Support production orders and material requests to the factory floor

Administer stock control and maintain accurate documentation

Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce costs

Perform data analysis and metrics reporting to support continuous improvement

Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers to ensure smooth logistics flow

Assist in managing and developing the warehouse and logistics team

Personal Qualities & Skills

Proven experience within a stores or logistics environment

Strong understanding of supply chain, inventory, and distribution processes

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

Proficient in Windows–based PC programmes

Previous experience with SAP is an advantage

Reliable team player with good communication and timekeeping skills

Flexible, proactive, and able to show initiative
