Key Account Manager – Supply Chain/ Freight

Our client, is a global leader in Freight Forwarding who is now recruiting for a Senior Supply Chain Solutions – Key Account Manager joining the team at their offices in Trafford Park

Reporting to the GM of Supply Chain Solutions. The Key Account Manager is responsible for managing and developing strategic customer relationships across airfreight, sea freight, and road freight. Acting as a central Control Tower for international shipping flows, ensuring a seamless coordination of end–to–end logistics, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across global trade lanes. The role combines commercial development, operational oversight, and strategic customer relationships.

Required Skills & Experience KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER

Technical & Industry Expertise

Experience in freight forwarding across air, sea, and road (minimum 3–5 years).

Strong understanding of international shipping processes, trade lanes, and Incoterms.

Experience in a control tower, PO Visibility tools, operations management, or global coordination role strongly preferred.

Commercial Skills

Proven capability in managing and growing key accounts.

Negotiation, pricing, and RFQ experience.

Ability to interpret customer supply chain data and create value added solutions.

Additional Skills

Excellent communication and relationship building abilities.

Strong problem–solving mindset with proactive decision making.

High level of organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Education

Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or related field (preferred).

Professional certifications are a plus.

Salary Range 35– 45k, with potential for higher based on experience
