Poole Competitive Salary 39 hours per week Monday to Friday

We are currently recruiting for an experienced International Supply Chain Specialist to join a well–established manufacturing business based in Poole.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in import/export, customs compliance and international logistics to take on a key role within the supply chain function.

The successful candidate will act as the subject matter expert for customs compliance, international trade, freight coordination and shipping, working closely with Supply Chain, Customer Service, Warehouse, freight forwarders, customs brokers and external logistics providers.

The main duties for the International Supply Chain Specialist:

You will be responsible for ensuring international shipments are processed accurately, efficiently and in full compliance with UK and international customs and trade requirements.

Managing import and export activities in line with UK and international trade regulationsPreparing, reviewing and maintaining customs documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin and export declarationsCoordinating customs clearance with freight forwarders and customs brokersEnsuring compliance with customs regulations, sanctions and export controlsCoordinating inbound and outbound international shipmentsMonitoring shipments and proactively resolving freight, customs or documentation issuesProviding escalation support for urgent and priority customer shipmentsWorking closely with Warehouse and Customer Service teams to ensure priority shipments are dispatched on timeReviewing shipping documentation and ensuring processes are followed correctlySupporting freight planning, scheduling and carrier performanceAssisting with freight cost improvement initiativesMonitoring changes to customs and trade regulations and communicating any relevant impactsMaintaining accurate records for customs audits and regulatory requirementsDeveloping and maintaining standard operating proceduresSupporting improvements to ERP and shipping systemsAnalysing logistics and compliance performance to identify opportunities for improvementDriving continuous improvement across customs, logistics and shipping processesTo be considered for this International Supply Chain Specialist vacancy: Previous experience in import/export, customs compliance, logistics or international tradeA strong understanding of UK customs regulations and international shipping requirementsExperience working with freight forwarders and customs brokersGood knowledge of import and export documentation and proceduresExperience with ERP and shipping systemsExcellent organisational skills and a high level of attention to detailStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsThe ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesA confident approach to problem–solving and resolving logistics issuesA continuous improvement mindsetThe ability to work effectively within a fast–paced operational environmentRelevant import/export, customs or logistics qualifications would be advantageous.Why Apply?
