Manpower Scotland is recruiting on behalf of a well–established and industry–leading client based in Leith, Edinburgh for an experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver. Working Hours & Pay

Average 48–hour working weekStart times usually around 6:00amFlexible start times to meet operational requirementsMinimum 8 hours guaranteed per shiftParticipation in a weekend working rotaTemp to perm opportunity after 12 weeks

Pay Rate:

16.00 per hour (PAYE)Weekly pay

Training & Development

Initial training will be provided on HGV Class 2 (C) vehicles, including handballing duties, to ensure you are fully trained in the processes, delivery standards, and operational requirements of the role.

During this period, you will gain full exposure to the end–to–end delivery process and build confidence in the operational environment.

Occasional HGV Class 2 driving shifts will be a requirement as part of the role.

The Role

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of bulk and bagged products to customer sites.

Key responsibilities include:

Safely operating LGV C+E vehicles in line with legislation and company proceduresDelivering bulk and bagged products to customer premisesManual handling of bagged goods where requiredLoading and unloading bulk product in accordance with safe operating proceduresCompleting daily vehicle checks, defect reports, and all required driver paperworkMaintaining high standards of vehicle cleanliness and hygieneProviding a professional, reliable, and customer–focused service at all timesWorking collaboratively with the wider transport and logistics teamSupporting operational efficiency and representing the company professionally on customer sites

About You

The successful candidate will be:

A qualified and experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) driverReliable, professional, and safety–focused at all timesComfortable with manual handling when requiredAble to work independently and manage time effectivelyA strong communicator with a customer–focused approachCompliant with all transport legislation and safe driving practices

Essential Requirements

Valid HGV C+E (Class 1) licenceDriver CPC qualification cardDigital Tachograph cardStrong understanding of EU Drivers' Hours regulationsKnowledge of Road Transport Directive (RTD) and Highway CodeGood awareness of health & safety and food hygiene standardsNo major DR or DD convictions (insurance purposes)
