Job Title: Freight Forwarder

Location: Sheffield, United Kingdom

Salary: Dependant on experience

Job Overview

We are now looking for a Freight Forwarding operative with a minimum of two years of recent Freight industry experience to join our busy freight forwarding office in Chapeltown, Sheffield.

Key Responsibilities

Arrange and coordinate international and domestic shipments (import and export).

Monitor and manage cargo movements from point of origin to destination

Negotiate rates and services with shipping lines, airlines, hauliers, and agents.

Prepare and process shipping and customs documentation (e.g. bills of lading, airway bills, marine insurance certificates, commercial invoices, packing lists).

Ensure compliance with HMRC customs regulations, Incoterms, and trade laws.

Track and monitor shipments, providing updates to clients and resolving any delays or issues.

Maintain accurate records of all freight movements and costs utilising our bespoke operating system.

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and logistics partners.

Handle quotation requests from domestic and international clients.

Skills & Qualifications

Minimum two years' experience of working within the freight forwarding industry, ideally with an all modes background although we will consider candidates with just air, sea or trailer

Strong knowledge of customs clearance procedures and Incoterms.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes

Working Hours & Conditions

Monday to Friday, 9am–5:00pm

May require occasional out of hours working to meet shipment deadlines or handle urgent consignments to suit the business needs

Office–based with regular communication via email, phone, and teams.

Salary and Benefits

Salary 30,000 to 35,000 circa
