Using operational data and dashboards to identify risks, prioritise action and track completion. Prioritising urgent operational issues, coordinating the right resources and tracking them through to resolution. Taking ownership of commercial partners, monitoring service levels, capacity, costs and quality. Coordinating vehicle maintenance, availability and relevant transport compliance requirements. Creating clear planning processes, reporting and escalation procedures to improve visibility and control. Improving logistics operations by reducing unnecessary journeys, repeat visits and avoidable costs.

The successful Transport & Fleet Planning Manager will have:

Previous experience as a Transport Planning Manager, Fleet Planning Manager, Logistics Manager, Transport Manager, or an experienced Transport Planner or Fleet Planner with broader operational responsibility. Strong transport planning, fleet planning and resource coordination experience. A data–driven approach, with strong Excel skills and confidence using planning systems, dashboards or vehicle tracking tools. Experience managing external suppliers or commercial partners against service and cost expectations. An understanding of vehicle maintenance, fleet compliance and transport requirements. A proactive, organised approach and the ability to make practical decisions under pressure. Confidence coordinating engineers, drivers and colleagues across different locations. A full UK driving licence and willingness to undertake occasional UK travel. Transport Manager CPC is desirable, although not essential. Office–based for the first six months, with occasional UK travel thereafter

On offer

GBP40'000– 60,000 per annum depending on experience Permanent, full–time position based in Runcorn. A varied role combining project ownership, transport planning, fleet planning and logistics management. The opportunity to shape planning processes and improve national operational performance.
