CUSTOMS CLERK - NIGHT SHIFT

6PM TO 6AM - 4 ON 4 OFF

Onsite - Near Folkestone, Kent.

OUR CLIENT

A specialist in perishable logistics, offering time-critical solutions across the UK and internationally. We're looking for an experienced Customs Clerk to join our busy night team and ensure smooth, compliant movement of goods in and out of the UK.

THE ROLE:

As a Customs Clerk, you'll process up to 50 declarations and customs clearance jobs per shift, each within a strict 4-hour window. You'll be responsible for ensuring every job is completed before the end of shift, leaving a clean handover to the day team.

Complete import/export customs declarations accurately and efficientlyLiaise with HMRC, DEFRA, port authorities and customers to support timely clearanceWork closely with internal teams to keep shipments movingMaintain compliance with HMRC regulations and internal processesEnsure all jobs are processed and closed out by the end of shiftAssist with continuous improvement of customs processesRequirements

1-2 years' experience in customs clearance or as a Customs ClerkCDS experience and strong knowledge of HS codes/classificationsBasic familiarity with PEACH and DEFRA applicationsExperience with food/perishables and temperature-controlled logisticsKnowledge of Cargowise (advantageous)Excellent attention to detail and time management under pressureIt would be a bonus if you had experience with food/perishables and temperature-controlled logistics - BUT NOT ESSENTIALWhat We're Looking For
