Have worked with Signature Design multiple times , the most recent time we had very difficult council that they professional navigated us through the planning process. My wife and I sold our 4-bedroom family house and bought a small 2-bedroom bungalow with plans to extend and refurbish it, to create living space better suited for retirement. We retained two rooms downstairs, one as a bedroom, the other as a snug / study; the original bathroom became a downstairs toilet / shower room; the kitchen was turned into the utility room; we widened the hallway; added an 8.5 metre extension to the rear for a spacious open plan kitchen, dining and living room space. Stairs were added leading to a fully reconstructed roof and first floor loft conversion accommodating 2 new bedrooms, ensuite and separate main bathroom. This was quite a major project. We wanted more flexible living space, also suitable for our grown-up sons and daughter to visit with their families too. We had a general idea of what we thought we wanted but we needed help to develop the detailed scheme, get us through planning and ensure compliance with building regulation requirements. Signature Design Architecture Limited visited and did a complete survey measure, listened very carefully to the vision we had, understood our needs, produced comprehensive architectural drawings, got full structural design calculations done, and produced a detailed building regulations specification for the works. They also helped us through the process of getting all the approvals we needed, dealing with the Local Authority’s ‘officialdom’, and matters such as needing to ‘bridge over’ a sewer. They were always available and very willing to help with any questions we had or queries our builder raised during the build. More than that, they made some great suggestions to improve the plans and make much better use of space. There was real attention to detail in their work, including the addition of built in wardrobes, a walk-in cupboard, and altering the roof design to create space for a dressing area in the main bedroom, plus both an ensuite and new main bathroom upstairs. We love the staircase space, where the angled roof slope was retained with twin Velux style sky windows, providing a feeling of space and light, whilst retaining privacy on the upstairs landing. Lee and Les will make sure the design is exactly as you want it before they proceed. They have provided an excellent personal service to us throughout the project and I have no hesitation in recommending them to you.
