Description

For sale is my 2001 Lexus GS300 with 121,000 miles, finished in rare Black Cherry Pearl with a tan leather interior. It has the 3.0-litre 2JZ engine, automatic gearbox. The car is ULEZ compliant.

The car comes with stacks of service history and paperwork. It drives very well, everything works as it should, and it comes with two keys. Mot to November 2026.

I bought the car from an elderly neighbour around a year ago. She had been unable to drive since Covid, so the car had spent approximately three years parked on her driveway under a cover. I originally intended to keep it long-term, so I recommissioned it thoroughly and carried out a significant amount of preventative maintenance. I am only selling because I have now changed to an estate car.

Work completed within the last year:

Two oil and filter services; new air and cabin filters; spark plugs and HT leads; radiator; water pump; timing belt and tensioner; front camshaft and crankshaft seals; auxiliary belt; coolant flush; battery; fog lamp; all vacuum hoses and clips; rear ABS rings; rear stub axle bushes; replacement rear driveshaft; both front upper control arms, including bushes and ball joints; driver's-side lower ball joint; automatic gearbox fluid; rear differential oil; power-steering flush; brake-fluid change; rear brake discs and pads; and wiper blades.

Various other smaller items have also been replaced, including bulbs and clips, and I am sure there are a few things I have forgotten. I have covered approx. 6000 miles since the work was completed, and it was most recently serviced two weeks ago.

Approximately 80% of the above work was preventative maintenance, as I had planned to keep and use the car for a long time. There is a large folder of paperwork detailing its service history and the work carried out.

Great spec including Factory touchscreen infotainment and navigation, Facelift model with the Steering-wheel shift buttons for manual mode, Heated and electrically adjustable memory tan leather seats, Electric sunroof, Cruise control, Parking sensors, Dual-zone climate control, Heated mirrors.

Everything works.

The bodywork and paint are good for a 25-year-old car, with the usual age-related marks. Black Cherry Pearl is a fantastic colour and looks especially good in direct sunlight.

There are a couple of cosmetic imperfections worth mentioning. Some clearcoat has failed on one of the C-pillars, possibly as a result of the car spending several years under a cover, and the paint on the rear bumper is tatty.

The badges were 24-carat Gold plated from the dealership, a rare and expensive optional extra. Unfortunately, the rear badges have been repainted in a generic gold colour. The front badge lasted better but had faded, so I have had it wrapped in chrome gold to improve its appearance and durability.

Fuel economy is surprisingly reasonable for a 3.0-litre engine. I typically see around 35 to 40 mpg on a motorway run and approximately 25 to 30 mpg around town, depending on driving conditions.

I want to be completely honest about the car to avoid any surprises during a viewing. There is a slight vibration through the car when braking heavily from high speed. I suspect the front brakes, as the rear discs and pads are brand new. One of the front windscreen-washer jets is currently blocked. The previous MOT noted a chip in the windscreen. It is positioned behind the rear-view mirror, so it is not visible while driving, and it has been sealed to prevent it from spreading.

Given the amount of work completed, I would not expect the car to need anything for its next MOT.

A few spare parts and consumables, including spare wiper blades, will also be included with the car.

I have recently removed my private registration, and the replacement V5 is expected to arrive within the next couple days.

Please leave a message if I do not answer the phone, as I am often unable to have my phone with me while at work.

Any questions or viewings are welcome.
