Description
Metal working lathe. 240v. I've had this for ten years as a very useful hobby lathe. I think it's a 9B 1942 (9") model with power cross feed. These were provided by the USA to help the UK war effort and were "supposed" to be destroyed after the war, to then promote UK manufacturing. Quite a few left workshops through the back door ...! It's showing signs of wear - see photos, but still works fine. I'm not a machinist, so I'll answer questions as best I can.
Comes with tools shown - 4 jaw chuck, tool posts, capstan and cast iron legs/stand. Wooden sleepers not included.
Heavy, obviously, so will need two fit people to partly disassemble and move. (I will not be able to help with lifting.)
Size: Width - 122cm, Depth - 88cm, Height on stand w/o sleepers - 125cm.
The fitted chuck takes a 50mm piece and the length of material between centres is about 400mm.
Located close to Cambridge centre, just off A14.
