The Property

Garden comprises:

Lawns, Formal Beds, Herbaceous Beds, Herb Garden, Greenhouse, Paddock, Hedges

The property also has a large walled garden which has formerly featured:

Vegetables, Salad leaves, Berry fruits, Fruit trees

The walled garden has been uncultivated since 2020 – the owners own the local pub/restaurant and would love to restore the walled garden to its former status and resume providing locally-sourced produce to the pub. The walled garden work could form part of the gardener’s role or be a separate project for a second candidate.

The owners also at various times keep chickens, pigs and bees.

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, hard-working gardener. The candidate will need to use their own initiative, be happy to plan their own work schedule without relying on others, and enjoy working on their own. Experience and good plant knowledge is preferable but we are looking for the right candidate with the right attitude. It is a job that can provide huge pride and job satisfaction in a lovely setting.

Salary is from £28k per annum based on 40 hours per week, with paid holiday. Working hours can be flexible to reflect the seasons, as well as fitting around the candidate’s domestic situation.
