Description
Job Title: Horticultural Maintenance & Installation Assistant
Hours: 16 - 24 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
Location: London
Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 per annum (pro rata)
Tree Resource is a bespoke, family-run company with over 25 years of experience, working closely with a select group of high-net-worth clients who expect the highest standards of trust, discretion, and excellence. We specialize in designing, installing, and maintaining stunning indoor and outdoor green spaces across some of the most prestigious properties in central London.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Horticultural Maintenance & Installation Assistant to work with our dedicated maintenance team. This is a hands-on role requiring someone with excellent horticultural knowledge and a passion for creating and maintaining exceptional gardens.
We are currently seeking a Horticultural Maintenance & Installation Assistant to join our team for two to three days a week, with the possibility of increasing to full time in the Spring. The role involves maintaining and enhancing planting schemes across various properties, ensuring they remain healthy, vibrant, and well cared for.
This position requires a strong knowledge of plants and plant maintenance, making it ideal for candidates with proven experience in a similar role. While you will be supported by on-site colleagues and the Project Manager, you must be proactive and capable of working independently when required. At times, you may also be the first point of contact for our clients, so good communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the installation of new planting projects as needed.
Carry out regular plant maintenance, including watering and care of both indoor and outdoor plants and trees.
Identify and treat plant pests and diseases, prioritizing biological methods where possible.
Prune and remove dead or unhealthy plant material as required.
Perform seasonal pruning and general upkeep of planting areas.
Replace any failed plants to maintain high-quality planting schemes.
Liaise with clients to ensure all contractual obligations are met.
Report any issues or concerns observed during maintenance visits.
Provide holiday cover for colleagues when necessary.
Essential Requirements
Valid driver’s licence (for travel between locations).
Strong knowledge of plants, planting techniques, and plant care.
Experience in pest and disease identification and treatment.
Familiarity with standard gardening tools and equipment.
Previous experience working with plants in both small and large-scale project environments.
Good understanding of soft landscaping principles.
Excellent communication skills and professionalism when dealing with clients.
Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of the company.
A Level 2 RHS Horticulture, Arboriculture qualification, or a similar relevant qualification in horticulture, landscaping, garden design, or arboriculture.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
Valid first aid certificate.
Salary & Benefits
£30,000 - £33,000 per annum (pro rata).
20 days holiday (plus bank holidays – pro rata for part-time employees).
Pension scheme.
