It has benefited from extensive mechanical refurbishment and sensible upgrades to improve reliability, drivability, and long-term durability. The chassis remains in excellent order and still displays remnants of its original factory inspection markings. The bulkhead is solid with no visible corrosion, and both the rear crossmember and link shaft are in strong condition. Mechanically, the vehicle has had significant investment in the last year to ensure everything operates as it should. Recent work includes a Power Spec clutch and slave cylinder with a new flywheel from LOF Clutches, replacement LOF link shaft between gearbox and transfer box, heavy duty axle flanges, new springs and shock absorbers all round, rear trailing arm bushes, diff guard, steering guard, brand new steering box, and heavy duty steering arms. The gearbox, engine, and differential oils have all been replaced along with new breathers extended to full height. A new fan pulley set, auxiliary belt, air filter, swivel hub bearings, and new wiper arms have also been fitted. Additional refinements include aluminium gear selectors, new cubby lid, metal carpet trims, Royal Fab snorkel fully plumbed in, synthetic winch rope, and a new spare wheel with an unused tyre still carrying its sticker. Performance has been further enhanced with a larger aluminium intercooler, new silicone boost pipes, EGR delete, and a professional remap by CSK Defenders. The rear tub has been Raptor lined for durability, and the exterior benefits from black metal door handles, a Warn winch with remote control, soft front bull bar, and a subtle four inch exhaust system that gives a deep refined tone. Being an XS model, this Defender comes with heated seats, heated windscreen, and air conditioning, making it both practical and comfortable.
