🔥 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 2 TD5 AUTO – HEAVILY MODIFIED / 6” LIFT / WINCH / SNORKEL 🔥

Selling my Discovery 2 TD5 Auto after owning her for 3+ years. Only reason for sale is I fancy getting back into a normal car – using this beast as a daily isn’t exactly cheap 😂⛽

She’s currently on around 183,400 miles and will rise slightly as I still use her. Don’t let the mileage put you off – she starts, drives and pulls absolutely spot on, engine sounds lovely and she’s never let me down.

Loads of money and work has gone into this over the years:

• Approx 6-inch lift
• Huge Cooper Discoverer tyres with loads of presence
• Heavy-duty front winch bumper
• 10+ tonne winch plumbed in
• Winch isolation/on-off key
• Bluetooth winch remote
• Safari-style snorkel
• Heavy-duty roof rack
• Polybushed suspension
• Upgraded springs/cones & suspension components
• Towbar with drop plate – ideal for caravans/trailers
• High & low range
• Centre diff lock – operated from inside the cab with a ratchet as this gearbox has the CDL mechanism
• Android touchscreen head unit
• Bluetooth / phone connectivity / maps etc.
• Twin sunroofs – one working, other needs looking at, possibly something simple
• Electric seats – need the yellow fuses replacing
• Loads more that I’ve probably forgotten!

🔧 MECHANICAL

A lot of work has been done and anything it has ever needed I’ve had sorted.

It had major engine work including timing chain/injector work [I can confirm exact work from receipts], and last year I spent around £600 having oil seal/gearbox seal work done.

Starts brilliantly, sounds sweet, pulls perfectly and the gearbox drives as it should. It honestly drives far better than you’d expect from the mileage.

MOT’d recently and has passed year after year with anything required always being done.

🛻 BODY / CHASSIS

For an old Discovery she’s extremely solid. No horrible rot underneath that these are famous for. There’s only a tiny bit starting around one wheel arch where the plastic trim has been removed – nothing that bothers me whatsoever.

Obviously she’s an older Land Rover, so don’t expect a brand-new Range Rover, but she’s a very solid example.

⚠️ BAD POINTS – BEING COMPLETELY HONEST

• Small ACE fluid leak. You can keep it topped up and it doesn’t affect how she drives, but it’s annoying. Could repair the unit or fit an ACE delete kit.
• The 3 Amigos occasionally show since fitting the big lift. The rear ABS wiring/plugs get pulled because of the extra suspension travel – extended leads/plugs should sort it. It never did this before the lift.
• One sunroof needs looking at.
• Electric seats need the yellow fuses.

That’s genuinely about all I can fault it on.

This isn’t a polished-up standard Discovery – it’s a proper big, capable Land Rover with a fortune’s worth of extras already fitted. Massive road presence and gets attention everywhere.

It has done green lanes in the past and is more than capable off-road, although I haven’t taken it green laning for well over a year. Mainly used as my daily.

It’s been with me for over 3 years and has never left me stranded. I genuinely think there’s plenty of life left in her if she’s kept maintained.
