Marble base with foot pedal switch.
The lamp itself can swivel 360 so can be pointing in any direction and the whole metal bit can be adjusted .
The base needs tightened and small marks on the copper lamp bit - reflected in price .
Looks great and works fine jusy needs tightened at the base occasionally .
