VISIT US ON FACE-BOOK STAFFORDSHIRE CLASSIC SCOOTERS…. Here we have a fantastic Lambretta Li 125, 1964. Purchased from Potenza Italy. Owned by one family from new.
The scooter had not been used since 1984, but had been safely stored in the rear of a carpet and rug shop.
The paint work had been kept in very good condition other than a couple of small legshield dents. The mudguard, floorboards and panels being virtually dent and split free.
On arrival in the uk, the scooter was professionally dismantled, cleaned thoroughly and the panel work given a coat of Satin lacquer to preserve the paint work for the future. The paint work is mostly original with just the inner legshield and rear footboards restored and painted to match.
The scooter also received a complete professional engine refurbishment including rebore to 175, crank bearing and balance, full bearing and seal replacement, new 20mm carburettor, clutch, gearbox overhaul and reshim, electronic ignition upgrade, new wiring and control cables.
The front forks were also removed stripped and rebuilt with all new parts.
Hub bearing and seal replacement along with brake shoes etc.
Scootopia standard exhaust fitted along with new fuel tap and lines.
In order to provide an element of additional safety for our modern roads a set of Sip tubeless rims with Dunlop Scooter Smart tyres fitted.
The original spare wheel holder was refurbished and a new spare wheel rim and tyre fitted.
To provide individuality the scooter was professionally air brushed to match a phograph found on Google of a 1960s rental / hire scooter from the Italian holiday resort of Positano. Marcos Promenade rentals operated in Positano and provided rental, pedalos, sun loungers, beach umbrellas and rental Lambrettas and Vespas, with their side panels painted to advertise Marcos rental goods.
The scooter was displayed at the Isle of Wight rally in 2022 and drew lots of attention and questions.
