VINTAGE FRENCH PAN RACK, GALLERIED WOODEN SHELF, HANGING RAIL, COPPER TRIM, 5 HOOK - 60.3cm long 38cm tall 14cm deep/wide - 1970s - FRENCH KITCHENALIA

Selling our collections (hoards) of mostly French vintage items that have been acquired over many years until finally we have no room for more!

We got this from a Vide Maison at Lusigny sur Barse in the Champagne region and have used it as a pan rack and shelf in our French kitchen.
It’s a sturdy vintage wooden rack with five hanging hooks, a galleried top shelf and attractive decorative rose flower copper trim dating to around the 1970s.
Quite chippy in construction, I think it’s made from some sort of hardwood like oak but I’m not certain.
Now worn but still sound with a nice patina it makes a great functional and decorative piece of French kitchenalia.

In good vintage condition with wear consistent with its age and use but no damage - please examine photos carefully for condition.
Sturdy and sound with no structural damage and nicely rigid.
This has had a light clean and coat of beeswax.
No sign of woodworm.
I think the wood is oak or similar but not certain.
Appears to be of nail and glue construction rather than screwed.
The surfaces are worn with some staining but sound.
The gallery to the front of the shelf is secure.
There are five metal hooks underneath the shelf for hanging pans or similar that are worn and can be turned by hand but are secure and sound - see photos.
The decorative copper trim is worn and is coming away from the rail in places, I think it’s stapled in place, but sound and secure with a nice patina - see photos.
There are two holes to the rear for wall hanging which have wear but are sound (they slot over screws or nails).
The rear is worn but sound.
I can find no maker’s mark.
