VINTAGE VICTOR ENGLAND CAST IRON WEIGHING SCALES, BALANCE SCALES, & NINE BRASS WEIGHTS WITH CAST IRON STAND - REDUCED!

Selling our collections (hoards) of mostly French vintage items that have been acquired over many years until finally we have no room for more!

Having a clear out, inherited these some years ago but did nothing with them.
It’s a set of cast iron balance scales with a brass pan and nine brass weights in a cast iron stand by manufacturer VICTOR, ENGLAND, probably dating to the early 1970s.
Although used and worn it’s a good quality piece that is still functional as intended and also makes a great decorative kitchenalia display.

In good vintage condition with some wear, peeled paint, rust, tarnishing and staining but no damage - please examine photographs carefully for condition.
The surfaces are painted black with some peeling, scratches and wear evident - see photos.
Structurally worn and rattles a little but sound.
The balance cradle is worn but secure - see photos.
The cast iron weight tray is marked VICTOR ENGLAND and is a little crooked and worn but secure - see photos.
The brass pan is worn and stained but sound and bright - it would polish up well if required - see photos.
The underside and the balance mechanism is worn and rattling a little, but sound - see photos.
There are brass plates to the ends.
The nine brass weights are marked 500g, two 200g, 100g, 50g, two 20g, 10g and 5g, and are worn but in a sound bright condition.
The cast iron weight stand is marked VICTOR ENGLAND and is worn and rusted but in good condition - see photos.
